Annie Get Your Gun!: Gun Cabinet Makeover

I finally finished the gun cabinet! It was not that it was a hard task I just kept piling projects on top of projects and this one ended up at the bottom some how. I loved how it turned out and sincerely thank the old Grandpa or teen wood-shop student for making it for me. Remember how I bought this for only $35.00 at DI awhile back? You have to love having a vision for old things.

Perfect Plastics

I am not a big fan of plastic cups, plastic plates, and plastic bowls. Which I knew might pose a problem when having a child. I just hate it when people have nothing but cupboards full of plastic. So I have been determined to find a kid friendly solution to this idiosyncrasy I have, and I am happy to say that I have found it.

Bake Sale: Sold Out!

The Bake Sale was a big success! I sold out of everything we had by three and had to hide a cupcake for myself. I couldn't believe that I had made the perfect amount of everything. Although a lot of you wished I would have made more cookie mix jars (maybe next year). We raised a little over $300 which I thought was great for a one women small neighborhood Bake Sale! Thanks Everyone!!!

Signage 101: "A" Frame Wood Chalkboard Sign Tutorial

Sometimes I come up with some crazy, but perfect last minute ideas and this was no exception.

Last Saturday we were trying to figure out what kind of signs we were going to put out on the street corners for the Bake Sale, and after calling a couple of print places we decided we did not want to pay $7.00 each for a blown-up versions of the flier. Left with no other ideas I told Ryan that I would just rather make signs. He was not too in-favor of the idea, but I assured him it would be do-able and that I would be-able to use the signs again. Some elbow grease and $50.00 (so long to $7.00 each) later I had my signs and they are just how I envisioned.

I LOVE THEM!

Bread Bowls

Last week while the weather was cold I decided to make chili since it seemed like winter here. Can you believe it, chili in April!

I found a great recipe on a childhood friends blog for homemade bread bowls and decided to try my hand at it. The bowls turned out great and tasted sooooo good. They were easy to make, and added that little extra something to our meal.
